This year, most of my beds will be mulch-free.Margarethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15949946977793864054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2884216770926932676.post-13839866510188519502014-05-21T13:29:10.532-04:002014-05-21T13:29:10.532-04:00At my last garden the slugs were the worst. I do use Sluggo as it seems to work better than anything else. But at least here the slugs aren't quite so bad. Yes I get damage. But at least I can get cucumber to germinate and grow without replanting a million times.Daphne Gouldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17305049560953735881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2884216770926932676.post-59832272726721218622014-05-17T08:53:51.803-04:002014-05-17T08:53:51.803-04:00So true! I suppose that's one of the reasons that I have never heard of a bored gardener :)Margarethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15949946977793864054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2884216770926932676.post-5694042750117946682014-05-17T07:03:24.528-04:002014-05-17T07:03:24.528-04:00Oh wow...those seeds are quite interesting. This is part of the excitement of gardening in my opinion. I love that you get to grow plants and vegetables from all over the world.Thomas Generaziohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03536611327617373090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2884216770926932676.post-55020859020968633752014-05-16T15:28:42.812-04:002014-05-16T15:28:42.812-04:00I have issues with birds as well, although, as far...I have issues with birds as well, although, as far as I can tell, they only want the strawberries (which I am netting this year). It actually never occurred to me that they may be the culprits when it came to the carrots. I'll have to keep an eye out.Margarethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15949946977793864054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2884216770926932676.post-82777776894053404722014-05-16T14:51:24.776-04:002014-05-16T14:51:24.776-04:00My carrots (and spinach) disappeared shortly after...My carrots (and spinach) disappeared shortly after coming up as well. For me it was the birds. I've since solved the problem with screens to cover the beds.
I hope your problem is as easy to cure. Love the carrots. And I hope to have plenty this year---I've certainly planted enough of them.
Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10122524042294993949noreply@blogger.com
